Mijas Golf Club is one of the most acknowledged Golf complexes on the Costa del Soland just 5 mins away. It offers two high level 18 hole courses which are totally different. Los Lagos and Los Olivos and it is right on our doorstep. Mijas Golf Club is a public Golf Club, so you can pay and play www.mijasgolf.org
Prices range from €45.00 to €110.00 depending on course and season.
The driving range is free; you can buy a bucket of balls for just € 5.00 or if you wish to practice daily a card for € 30,00 gets you 10 buckets of balls. The putting range and the chipping range is also free and a short walk from the apartments.
FACILITIES
It is possible to hire Clubs, Trolleys, Buggies and electric trolleys from the Club. There is a lovely cafeteria, restaurant and Coffee/refreshment hut, plus the mobile service offering refreshments, and light snacks whilst playing on the courses. As with all Golf Clubs there is a shop offering a wide range of Golf equipment and clothing. The clubhouse is situated between the two courses becoming the starting point for most players, either initiating or concluding a round on any of the two courses. It is designed and built as an old Cortijo Andalusian farmhouse with a large sunny terrace. The restaurant and Bar are both open to the Public.
HISTORY
Los Lagos was the first of the two courses to be built back in 1976, while Los Olivos was created a few years later. in 1984. Both courses were originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. following his philosophy of “Difficult Par, Easy Bogey”, with little rough, lots of water on fairly flat ground. Los Lagos has an area of 52 hectares defined by its wide fairways lined with numerous lakes, hence the course name. The 9 Lakes also form many of the obstacles whilst playing the course in 11 of the 18 holes. At the same time the course presents a lot of bunkers, large trees and plants that have been strategically located to defend the wide flat greens.

Alhaurin Golf
The cheapest by far has a PAR 3 9 hole course designed alongside the 18 hole both by SEVI.
However, this course is not easy and requires experience. If you join the Friends of Alhaurin Golf which is free, you can play the 9 hole for just € 10,00 or € 15,00 all day. This is cheap golf. There is a 19 hole Golf course available. www.alhauringolf.com
Calanova Golf
This has a great course and a great location to dine, the restaurant is top class and very reasonable. Prices range from € 55,00 to € 99,00 inc Buggy (18 holes) www.calnovagolf.es
Santana Golf
This is a wonderful course but quite expensive. Twilight 18 Holes is € 63.00 – € 74.00 depending on season. Early bird is € 85.00 to € 87,00 and prime times atre € 85.00 to 120.00. www.santanagolf.com

ZIA LOLA
This is our local restaurant. Just 5 mins walk away is this wonderful Italian Restaurant with great Trip Advisor reviews. The is a family run restaurant and owner Delores is always there ensuring everything is perfect. There is live entertainment several times a week. SANTANA GOLF – LA CABAÑA RESTAURANT
This restaurant is open all day with last orders at 7.00pm Closes 8.30 – 9.00pm Menu del dia finishes at 5.00pm. This is a must visit restaurant, very welcoming with excellent food. Prices are extremely reasonable, but they do carry a large stock of expensive wines if required. Set menus start from € 23,00 – € 35,00 for three courses.
There is an ala carte menu if preferred offering lovely fresh fish like Rodaballo. The outside terrace is lovely and has a great atmosphere and is always busy with Golfers.

CALA NOVA GOLF – RESTAURANT CALANOVA
Open all day for breakfast to Dinner – Last orders 7.00pm. They offer an all you can eat breakfast buffet for € 8.00 pp. The Main restaurant offers indoor dining and outdoor dining. The steaks and Fish are prepared fresh and this is fine dining at its best. The views from the terrace are breathtaking and well worth the visit for a drink. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. The steaks can be cooked on the stone which is perfect when sharing, I prefer rare and my partner prefers well done, so this is great when sharing a large 1.0kg Chuleton € 45,00 for 2 persons. Cala Nova also makes a very good Rodaballo which can be filleted or brought to the table in one piece. All served with Spanish potatoes and Peppers.

CERRADO DEL AGUILLA – LA SIERRA RESTAURANT
Just across the river from us is this little gem, offering quality food and live entertainment. Cerrado also have a Carvery on Sunday 2 course € 23,50 three Courses € 27,00 offering 4 meats and all the extras. Serving from 13.00 – 17.00 hours
